As I had only just transferred to the Multimedia course, unfortunately I did not make the beginning of the induction, instead joining in with only 2 hours left to go in the afternoon. Although I would have liked to have been there from the beginning some other students on the course looked shattered as a result of a full day of multimedia and little or no food!
When I joined in the group had just started a basic animation task using a still frame camera, a white board, and marker pen. We made short 120 frame videos using the method of drawing, by hand, each frame and taking a picture of it. The initial efforts were some what diluted as opposed to those of last years induction students; however, after taking a look at some of their examples most of us created more intricate, if slightly abstract short videos which should be posted on youtube soon, so watch this space!
